Connecting GoHighLevel
One agency-level install, then a click per client. The texting rides numbers your locations already own.
How the pieces fit
- The install happens once, at agency level. You approve the FieldPress app for your agency; after that, no tokens, no copying API keys, ever.
- Each client is one sub-account enablement. In the wizard's connect step you pick which location a client belongs to. Your license tier sets how many locations you can enable.
- Messages flow automatically. Once a location is enabled, texts to its intake number reach FieldPress without any workflow-building on your side.
Setting it up
- From the portal, click Connect GoHighLevel. You'll land on GHL's consent screen — sign in with your agency login if asked, and approve at the agency level (not a single sub-account).
- Enable the client's location when the wizard shows your location list.
- Choose the intake number. Every location already has (or can buy) numbers in GHL — pick one to be the client's dedicated TextAPage line.
The number advice that saves headaches
Give TextAPage its own number per client — don't share the main business line.
When review texts share a number with marketing blasts and missed-call texts, owners stop
noticing them (we learned this the real way). A dedicated line means the TextAPage thread on
the owner's phone contains exactly two things: jobs they sent, and pages asking to go live.
Phone compliance (A2P)
Business texting in the US requires carrier registration (A2P 10DLC), which lives where it always lives for your clients: in their GHL location. If the location already texts customers legally today, you're set. If it's a brand-new number, complete the location's A2P registration as you would for any campaign.
If the consent screen misbehaves
- Seeing "login to HighLevel" even though you're logged in? Log out of GHL completely, log back in, retry the connect link.
- Still looping? Try once in a private/incognito window — stale sessions are almost always the culprit.
